City of Roses Mustard – Rose City Delicacies

For over two decades, Diane Van Laningham has had a dream of sharing her family’s unique mustard with connoisseurs of fine foods everywhere.  After partnering with her brother, Dennis Van Laningham, that dream has become a reality as they launched the first mustards in the City of Roses® Creamy Mustard line.

Both Diane and Dennis, with the support of their family, are now watching the line grow from two flavors to five.  With many more flavors to come that will feature Northwest handcrafted beer, wine and distilled spirits, both are excited to see the endless possibilities.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Diane and Dennis are proud to call themselves Oregonians and love that they are bringing the flavors of the Northwest to the world.

Diane has done a full circle, returning to Portland in 1998, after spending fifteen years living in Ohio, Australia, and Central Oregon.  She has spent the last 37 years in the medical field and has four daughters.  At the age of 48, she accomplished one of her lifelong dreams of finishing her Bachelor’s degree.  She graduated from Concordia University with cum laude.  Starting this company is something she has always aspired to do, and is thankful that with the partnering of her brother, Dennis, it is finally happening.

Dennis is a former Lumber Broker, who has stayed true to his Northwest roots.  In 1997, he bought and restored the house he was raised in.  Currently, he and his wife are raising their two children in that same house that has been in the family for over 50 years.  He is extremely involved in his son’s Boy Scout troop and enjoys watching his daughter play sports.  He loves to travel, snow ski, golf, go camping and water skiing in the summers.  Being a part of this venture with his sister has been amazing and he is excited to see the possibilities yet to come.
